🚆 A Memorable Journey on Rehman Baba Express – Rawalpindi to Karachi

The day began at Rawalpindi Railway Station, covered in light morning fog. The aroma of fresh tea from the nearby stalls, the hustle of passengers, and the sound of announcements in the background—it all built the perfect atmosphere for a long train journey.

I boarded the Rehman Baba Express, heading from Rawalpindi to Karachi. I had booked an AC Standard class seat—clean, spacious, and comfortable enough for a journey that lasts more than a day.

⏰ Departure: The train departed right on time at 12:30 PM. As the wheels started rolling, the view outside began to change—from busy city life to open green fields and distant hills. A kind elderly man sitting next to me offered me tea from his steel thermos. This is the true spirit of hospitality you find only in Pakistan.

🌄 Scenic Route: Rehman Baba Express travels all the way from Peshawar to Karachi, passing through several major cities in Punjab and Sindh. Along the way, we stopped at stations like Jhelum, Faisalabad, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan, Rohri, and Hyderabad. Each city had its own vibe, its own people, and its own unique charm.

🍴 Food & Refreshments: There were food services available on the train—simple yet satisfying meals like chicken karahi with naan, and hot tea with biscuits. At major stations, local vendors offered pakoras, samosas, mangoes, and other traditional snacks. The smell of freshly fried food wafting through the windows was impossible to resist.

🕐 Duration: The total journey takes around 26–28 hours, but time passes quickly when you're surrounded by scenic views, interesting conversations, and the gentle rhythm of the train.

📍 Arrival: Finally, we arrived at Karachi Cantt Station. It was evening, and the city lights were already glowing. Though the journey had ended, it felt like a new adventure was just beginning in this vibrant city.

📸 Pro Tips:

  • Book a window seat to enjoy the landscape.
  • Carry snacks and water for convenience.
  • Keep your phone and power bank fully charged as charging points are limited.
